Ahoy Mateys! Introducing ANNE BONNY – A BUCCANEER BALLET created & directed by Sarah Najera with choreography by Sarah, Gina Sigismondi, Mei-Kuang Chen and Mary Kelly. Inspired by the real Anne Bonny (a female pirate from the 1700’s), this seafaring production is sure to make a splash!
Anne lives in a coastal town – her father is the commander of a merchant vessel. When Captain Bonny embarks on a journey overseas and then gets captured by pirates, Anne takes it upon herself to sail to her father’s rescue. This buccaneer ballet will feature lively music, original projections created by local artist Jonathan Franklin, and a motley crew of Pirates, Sailors, Fishermen, Seagulls, Dolphins, Jellyfish, Island Natives, Hummingbirds and more!
