Momentum for MOMENTA

This past year was truly an eventful one for MOMENTA. In addition to our annual programming, we held our first Chicago Inclusive Dance Festival – a daylong event full of integrated dance workshops, videos and presentations, held at the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. We performed in St. Louis, for the sixth time, as part of the Spring to Dance Festival, and presented our EveryBody Can Dance workshops at home and at the Old Town School of Folk Music. We finished out our year in integrated dance with a sold-out performance of Counter Balance: The Power of Integrated Dance – our annual collaborative dance concert with Access Living – at the Center on Halsted.

MOMENTA moves on to the next chapter at the end of next summer. In August of 2019 Stephanie Clemens will be retiring as MOMENTA’s Executive Director. She and the MOMENTA board have identified an outstanding candidate from within the MOMENTA family to replace her. We are delighted to announce that Sarah Najera will be MOMENTA's Executive Director starting on August 5, 2019.

This year we are asking for your help to support MOMENTA in this exciting transition, to honor Stephanie, and to continue our incredible work in dance. Your gifts help us turn on the lights, costume our dancers, contract new works, preserve and present historic masterpieces, educate our young people, make dance accessible to all, and tell the world about what we are doing!

I invite you to join us as we embark on our next adventure.

Join us in setting the stage for MOMENTA for the next 35 years.
